Tell us about your background:
I started working in the field of accounting since 2002. By 2010, I decided to open my business offering Cloud Quickbooks Bookkeeping (Flat rate) packages along with preparing tax return for individuals/business. I have a BBA major in Accounting (non CPA), Certified QB Proadvisor and Accredited Tax Prep (ATP).
What was your 1st entrepreneurial endeavor?
Helping my parents with their business.
Have you found social networks like LinkedIn or Instagram helpful when starting out?
I opened my Linkedin, FB and Twitter account in 2010 and been actively posting, commenting and sharing five times per week and it’s been helpful for exposure. However, Linkedin has not generated any new leads which I thought it would specially for B2B.
How has your personal brand helped your success
I made the mistake of fist branding my business name. Now I am branding my own personal name and I think this is helping more.
What’s the most exciting thing that happened this month?
Late April 2017, I had my book published and converted to audible available on Amazon title Starting and Running a small business in the USA. Also, started my itunes/soundcloud called Tax Advisor and Biz Coach Success https://soundcloud.com/1040-1120-1065 a weekly podcast in February.
Any plans to eventually focus more into either bookkeeping or tax prep?
My business model is switching as of this year I am focus more in QuickBooks training & consulting not on bookkeeping monthly service. I will also be moving away from tax preparation into tax advisory/planning because there is a lot of competition out there.
What other types of businesses would be the best resource for you and your clients?
Based on my experience:
E-commerce business such as Amazon/eBay, real estate, private dental/medical clinics and professional services.
Where would you like to see your business in the next year?
I like to see my business with financially stability and working with high ticket clients.
